Milo Rajevac to assist Appiah in WC

Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah has approached his former boss Milovan Rajevac to be his technical advisor at the 2014 World Cup finals.

According to mtnfootball.com, Appiah made the offer after meeting the Serb last Tuesday night in Podgorica before Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Montenegro in a pre-World Cup friendly the following day.

Rajevac has confirmed receiving the offer from his former assistant and remains keen on joining Ghana’s team to Brazil.

Sources say the former Qatar national team coach will scout on Ghana’s World Cup opponents and help in planning for matches.

But it is unknown if the Ghana Football Association, who had previously been accused of employing a foreign coach to help Appiah on the bench, will agree to the coach’s decision.

Rajevac remains hugely popular among Ghanaians during his impressive two-year reign as coach of the Black Stars where he led the side to the final of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and almost guided Ghana to a historic semi-final place at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa – during which time Appiah was his assistant.

He also led Ghana to win silver at the inaugural 2009 African Nations Championship final in Cote d'Ivoire.
