The nimble-footed player is a subject of serious transfer speculation after some eye-catching displays in Porto’s pre-season games.
He again emerged the star performer alongside Joao Moutinho in Saturday’s goalless draw with Olympique Lyon where Atsu in particular excited the crowd with his silky skills and overall build up play.
He has been consistently lined to a reunion with coach Andre Villas-Boas who guided him through the Porto youth ranks at Tottenham Hotspurs with Liverpool also reportedly interested.
Atsu’s impressive debut with the Ghana Black Stars in June’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho where he scored has also heightened his profile as a ripe player for the big stage.
The Portuguese press is now more than ever growing intrusive in their reportage of the budding star with speculations just going wild.
Porto are however unwilling to let him go as he is being talked of as the prospective heartbeat of the team this season with striker Hulk increasingly likely to exit the Dragao.
